The Livingston First Aid Squad was founded in 1950 and has been serving the residents and visitors of Livingston, New Jersey for over 50 years now. The year 2008 will be our 58th year of dedicated service to our community.
Since 2000 the Livingston First Aid Squad averages 1800 calls a year or about 150 calls per month. These numbers are up significantly since the late 1990's when we averaged about 1600 calls a year and 130 calls a month. Through continued commitment of our members, your neighbors, the Livingston First Aid Squad has been able to maintain our dedication to the community.
Besides handling emergencies for the Township of Livingston, we cover many of the Livingston High School varsity football games, and send an ambulance to special events that take place within the community. We also do demonstrations for such organizations as the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, the Girl Scouts, and schools in the community.
The Livingston First Aid Squad currently consists of 28 volunteer first aiders. Our members spend countless hours each month not only taking calls, but continually training on new and approved techniques to assist in the aid of those in need.
